A Color coded velocity maps at three representative time points after cortical injury (3, 11, 33 dpi) further demonstrate increasing vascular density with attendant flow. B Gamma distributions of blood flow velocity were obtained at each time point and the resultant histograms illustrate increasing flow velocity as the vascular networks increase in density. (* indicates the time points shown in A and C). C Increased temporal vessel density at each time point (filled circle) demonstrates vascular regrowth. Raw data is curve fitted (red line) using a Gompertz growth curve model. D There is no correlation between maximal vessel area in the histogram and its associated blood flow velocity (R2 = 0.01). This suggests that as vessel density increases there is no overt change in the overall blood flow velocity. Similar findings were observed across all mice (n = 4)
