Pharmacological and genetic inhibition of STAT3 attenuates Aβ induced oxidative stress. A Human vascular smooth muscle cells (HBVSMC) was pretreated with vehicle or STAT3 inhibitor S31-201 (10 μM) or siSTAT3. B Human brain microvascular endothelial cells (HBMEC) was pretreated with vehicle or STAT3 inhibitor S31-201 (10 μM) or LLL-12 (5 μM) or siSTAT3. Cells were treated with Aβ (1 µM) and oxidative stress was measured by increase in dihydroethidium (DHE) fluorescence. Each experiment was run in triplicate manner.
