IHC staining of the substantia nigra and amygdala in formalin fixed tissue sections from an LBD patient with antibodies to full length or carboxy truncated forms of αSyn. In the substantia nigra (left panels), antibody 94-3A10 that reacts with amino acid region 130–140 in αSyn and antibodies (10A4, 4H11, and 2G5) specific for carboxy truncated forms of αSyn strongly labeled classic LBs. In the amygdala (right panels), these antibodies also labeled cortical-type LBs and LNs. Tissue sections were stained with the αSyn antibodies indicated in the top left corner. Arrow depicts classical nigral LBs and arrowhead cortical-type LBs. All sections were counterstained with hematoxylin. Scale bar = 50 μm
