We studied the differences observed between the 1161 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) only identified in the acute in vivo neurovascular units (NVUs) and the 1714 DEGs only identified in the chronic in vivo NVUs. In addition the 121 DEGs identified in the in vitro BMECs’ were compared to the 1225 DEGs common between acute and chronic in vivo NVUs, but were not present in the in vitro BMECs.
