Fig. 5

MC1-tau immunoreactivity. Representative images of MC1 staining on JNPL3 brains. a, b, c Non-treated mice received AAV5-eGFP injection. Treated mice were injected with AAV5-CAG-scFvMC1 d, e, f or AAV5-GFAP-scFvMC1 g, h, i (Olympus BH-2 bright field microscope; bar: 500 μm a, d, g; bar: 100 μm b, c, e, f, h, i). j Quantification of percentage of area stained by MC1 shows a significant reduction in the AAV5-GFAP-scFvMC1 injected group, in the CA1 region of hippocampus (*P = 0.0320 by non-parametric Kruskall-Wallis test) and k in the EC (**P = 0.0025 by one-way ANOVA followed by Dunnett’s post hoc test). AAV5-CAG-scFvMC1 injected mice only showed a non-significant trend reduction in MC1 staining in (j) CA1 (p = 0.3999) and in k EC (p = 0.2626). All graphs are means +/− SEM (n = 15 in each group of treatment)
