Reduction of Tau protein expression in FTLD brains. a Western blot analysis of soluble Tau protein expression in control, AD and FTLD brains using antibodies targeting total Tau independently of any post-translational modification (N-ter, Tau 5 and C-ter). Are shown representative data from FTLD-TDP-GRN (n = 10), FTLD-TDP-C9ORF72 (n = 10), sporadic FTLD-TDP (n = 8), sporadic FTLD-FUS (n = 5), AD (n = 8) and control brains (n = 8). b Total Tau levels were quantified and normalized to a pool containing same protein amount of each control used in this study. Both full-length and truncated Tau species were considered for the quantification. Actin was used as loading control. Results are expressed as means ± SEM.
