C-terminal heterogeneity of Aβ peptides in 5XFAD mice. Immunoprecipitation using 6E10 followed by detection with 1E8 demonstrates the presence of C-terminal truncated Aβ species in both TBS- and SDS-soluble fractions from aged 5XFAD brain lysates (a). Mass spectra of immunoprecipitated Aβ peptides using pan Aβ antibodies 6E10 and 4G8 (used as a mix). The dominant Aβ species in 5XFAD is Aβ1-42, followed by Aβ1-40 (b), while the C-terminal truncated species Aβ1-37, Aβ1-38 and Aβ139 could be detected in lower abundance (c)
