  1. Semi-thin sections prepared at 12, 24, 36 and 48-hours after initiation of protein diet showed substantial occlusion of capillary vessels in cortex, hippocampus and striatum of Gcdh −/− but not Gcdh−/+ control brain. (n = 6 per time point, all changes significant p < 0.001 compared to control).
