Development of induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) from MSA patients represents the most advanced in vitro modeling of MSA. Somatic cells, such as skin fibroblasts, are reprogrammed into iPSCs using specific transcription factors. iPSCs are then differentiated into oligodendrocytes that feature the key phenotype – glial cytoplasmic inclusion (GCI)
