- Growth inhibition assays were performed on U87-MG and U118 cell lines using the MTT assay after 48 h incubation with a range of concentrations of fluvastatin and celecoxib. The combination index (CI) of fluvastatin and celecoxib was calculated using the median effect method (Chou and Talalay method). CI values less than 1 indicate synergy, CI equal to 1 indicates an additive affect, and CI greater than 1 indicates antagonism between the two drug agents.
